Seats
The majority of 3 wheel double buggies are designed as single pushchairs. However, some models can be modified to accept an additional seat by using adapters. There are also models let you add a ride-on board to older children who would like to walk, but need some assistance.
Take a look at the Joie Evalite Duo for an ideal, lightweight solution for city streets. It's easy to move and comes with a large basket that has plenty of storage space. It can be used to accommodate twins as young as birth and accept two car seats or seats and a carrycot. However, the seats need to face forwards and there's no space for a shopping bag underneath, so you'll need a sidepack to do this.

The phil&teds dots are great single buggys that can be easily modified to accommodate two (or three!) Multiple configurations are possible. Suspension
The suspension of a double 3-wheel buggy will determine how easily you and your child/children are able to push it. A smooth ride is essential since babies can feel every bump on the road, especially when it's in rough terrain such as grass or dirt roads. Some models have front tires that lock to help maneuver and get over obstacles like curbs.
Certain models come with air-filled tyres that are great for all-terrain riding, but they are susceptible to punctures. Make sure you keep a spare set of tyres in your trunk. Some models have foam or gel-filled tyres that are designed to cushion bumps. They can be less likely to puncture, however they may be uncomfortable for your child if you decide to run.

Folding
A three-wheel double buggy could be folded up easily for storage. There are options that fold flat and stand up (as as if they're in a pushchair position) as well as those that pop up to reveal an umbrella-like fold that has the option of a brake operated by hand. In general the more wheels a buggy has the more able it will be to maneuver on rough terrain. This is especially applicable when the wheels are larger than average - this will provide you with more stability and reduce the chance that your children will tip or flip over.

Its clever frame expands widthways to accommodate the additional seat, but it only weighs about 11kg, which makes it easy to lift and manoeuvre.
